Occmed Services Available!

Written By Wellness Heights on February 17, 2022

The trucking industry is booming and so is Wellness Heights Chiropractic!  Occmed services are now available which include: DOT and Non-DOT drug and alcohol testing, drug and alcohol consortium management, medical cards, clearinghouse registration, and hair follicle testing.

On the day of the DOT exam, you'll have to bring all of this with you (where applicable):

  • Photo identification
  • Medical records
  • List of medications, including strength and dosage, for both prescription and over-the counter drugs
  • Eye glasses
  • Hearing aids
  • Copy of your most recent stress test (for heart conditions)
  • Copy of physician release if you have had a cardiac event
  • Copy of your latest sleep test result (for sleep apnea)
  • Contact information, including names, phone numbers, and fax numbers for all your doctors

Right before your exam: Make sure you drink a glass of water and come in with a full bladder, as you will have to provide a urine sample.

Blood Pressure can limit certification to 3 months, 6 months, 1 year, 2 years, or a disqualification.  Here are some tips in preparing for your exam if you have blood pressure issues:

  • Take your medication every day as prescribed and on schedule
  • If you forget a dose, take it as soon as possible if that’s what your doctor recommends
  • Reduce your caffeine, nicotine, sugar, and salt consumption

More information is listed on the FMCSA website for medication/condition disqualifications or limitations.
